(Can you hear the funky disco music? Think Bee Gees. Now sing along with me . . . )
Well, you can tell by the way I run and swat
There’s mosquitoes here, and I just can’t stop.
You may laugh, most people do,
But when they’re done with me, they’ll come for you.
But that’s alright, that’s ok
Deet will get us through this day.
If we survive, we’ll make a plan
It’s mosquito vs woman.
Whether you’re a baby or whether you’re a lady
You’re eaten alive, eaten alive.
Mosquitoes keep on hatchin’ and everybody’s scratchin’
People eaten alive, eaten alive.
Ouch ouch ouch ouch
Eaten alive, Eaten alive.
Ouch ouch ouch, eaten ali-i-i-ive,
Ouch!
– My husband Randy gets credit (he’s claiming 10%) for rushing in the door singing the ‘eaten alive’ chorus, which inspired my rewrite of the Bee Gees hit song!
He also gets full credit for the awesome picture of the fire pit at my sister Ruthy’s house, where we just spent a really fun evening enjoying the fire and yummy popcorn and, yes, being eaten alive!

It’s not quite as close as it looks, but it really is beautiful.

We take possession on the 27th and then we’ll be sitting out there with the mosquitoes for the rest of the summer to soak it all up!
